Following are the cards I created with the suite of designer papers I was assigned to use - Kaisercraft Hidden Treasures. I really enjoyed the challenge and was tickled pink to be asked to contribute as a guest designer. I used a number of Spellbinder dies and have indicated what they are on the relevant cards.
Sentiments are Stamp It designs:
Happy Birthday - 4519C; Especially for You - 4639D; Wishes and Love - 4789D. The best wishes sentiment is a Daisy Bucket design - 5068. I really like this bold print for masculine cards.
Rhinestone embellishments are Kaisercraft Island Lagoon and Antique Gold. Pearls are Kaisercraft Chocolate.
The first card is called a V-Latch Fold card. Cardstock is 12" x 4". Fold in half. Cut a template 2" x 4" and mark the centre point on one of the 4" sides. Lay this at the opening end of the card, with the mark point on the card. Using your paper piercer, and with the card closed, make a small hole. Open card up and, on the front piece, cut from the hole point to the top right hand corner. Cut a piece of DP 4" x 2" and adhere to the inside of the card back, making sure the DP just meets the hole point you made. (I used Jac paper to adhere mine because you are now going to cut through it and you don't want it "flappy" along the cut line). Now cut from the hole point to the bottom right hand corner. If you don't want to put put designer paper on the inside back of the card (see spotted paper in pic below), you can just do some stamping within that 4" x 2" block at the end of the inside back of the card, OR, if these options don't appeal to you, don't cut the card at all, just cut a piece of DP 4" x 2", mark at 2" on one of the 4" edges and cut from that point down to each of the bottom corners, creating the triangle, and attach that to the card front. For the sentiment label, I used Spellbinder die - Labels 4 - 4th shape in, counting from the outside inwards , which was sponged, while still in the die, with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Bundled Sage. A second shape was cut in the darker cardstock and split vertically in the middle and moved slightly outwards to create the dark edge on either end. Attach to card on foam tape, just covering the hole you made earlier. The rose DP is 4" x 2¼", cut at 1", ¾" and ½" and attached to the aqua cardstock, with 1/8” between them. Scallop edge punch used down each side of the designer paper strips. The flower stamp is a Stamp It design called Magnolia - 4598D, stamped in Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Antique Linen. This could also be made into a gift holder by making a pocket on the inside for your gift card. To open the card, hold the back part, at the top of the card, reasonably close to the right hand edge, and the card front with the other hand, at the bottom of the card edge and gently pull the back part up and front part down.
The tags on this next card measure : Large Tags - 8cms x 5cms. Mark a point 1.5cms down on the long sides at one end and 1cm in from each corner. Small Tags - 5cms by 3cms. Mark a point 1 cm down on the long sides at one end and .5cm in from each corner. Cut the little triangles off to create the tag ends. Embellish with the tiny bows. The flower on the sentiment piece was "fussy cut" from the rose designer paper and popped up on foam tape.
The next one is the starburst design, a favourite of mine. The strips are 2" wide x 5" long, cut on the diagonal, top left to bottom right. Focal image is from the sticker sheet and is popped up on foam tape.
This next one uses Spellbinder Die Classic Diamonds, the two smallest shapes - the smallest for the diamonds and the next one for the sentiment. The sentiment diamond and the spotted diamonds are raised on foam tape.
Spellbinder Dies Classic Squares, large and small. The two spotted shapes are raised on foam tape. The small solid chocolate brown square is the 6th shape, counting inwards from the outside of the Small Classic Squares dies. This shape was also used on the pennant card (next one down), cut diagonally to create the blue corner interest on the main panel.
The four stripes going vertically down the card at the back of the focal image are strips from the bottom of the designer papers - I always cut these off and often use them as embellishments on my cards - I hate to waste anything! They are terrific for making quick quilt cards. The pennants are from the sticker sheet.
The button strip is from the bottom of one of the designer papers, matted onto a scrap strip of aqua blue. The cream button is from my button box and the two at the bottom of the card are from the sticker sheet.
This next one uses the triple stamping layout, except I didn't stamp, instead I used the designer papers to create the layers. I used about 15cms of the crocheted cream cotton ribbon.
For the next card, (called I believe, a Joy Fold Card), I used Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, 2nd shape in, counting from the outside inwards, and Large Classic Ovals, 2nd shape in, counting from the outside inwards, for the sentiment panel. The "closure button" was made using the smallest circle from the Small Standard Circles. It's popped up on foam tape, keeping the tape over to the right hand side of the "button", so you can slip the edge of the spotted card under it to keep it closed. Flower image is stamped in Tim Holtz Distress ink, Bundled Sage - I stamped off first to make the image very soft. The floral image is also stamped in the corners of the cream paper on the inside of the card, stamping off first to keep the image soft.
The next one uses Spellbinders Labels 4, largest shape and Large Classic Ovals, 2nd shape in, counting in from the outside edge, to cut the oval shape out of the Labels 4 shape, then Small Classic Ovals, 2nd shape in, counting in from the outside edge, to cut the sentiment panel. The aqua shape is popped up on foam tape. Also used on this card is part of the flourish (cream swirl) and one of the butterflies from Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes dies.
This next card is a 6" x 6" square. The flourish under the rose (which is from the sticker sheet) is Spellbinders Flourish Trim - S2-005 and the corner embellishments are a couple of the discarded pieces from the die. I also used a Sukara Gelly Roll pen to highlight parts of the image.
This "girly" pennant design uses a scallop edge punch down the sides of the pennant. The scallop edge was punched separately and then glued to the back of the hand cut pennant piece. The small white pennants are from the sticker sheet. I separated them and skimmed a tiny piece out of the tops, to give them a slight curve. I drew a light pencil line on the large pennant and then "fiddled" until I got them to fit neatly across the large pennant. The corner embellishments are discarded pieces from the circle label die, which is part of the Spellbinders set called Floral Doily Accent - I just used some scrap to cover the bits I wanted instead of cutting the whole die piece. The large pennant is popped up on foam tape.
