Distress Paints

Toni has brought the Ranger Distress Paints back into the shop.

Distress Paints are very fluid water-based acrylic paints for multiple surfaces.  Ranger developed these special paints to be reactive with water just like Distress Inks and Distress Stains—perfect to accomplish a wide variety of artistic techniques. Distress Paints have a convenient dabber system for easy and mess-free application. Use with stamps, paper, wood, metal, glass, plastic and more for a timeless matte finish on craft projects. There are now 52 colours in the collection.

Click here to have a look at how to make a clever background for a card with your paints.

Here are some videos below for you to view on how to use your Distress Paints.

Violet Crush

We have a lovely new display up in the shop this week.

Jill and Toni used the very purple Violet Crush collection from Kaiser. It matches Jill's hair beautifully. They also used two different Spellbinder dies on these cards. These die sets are Romantic Rectangles and Les Papillions 2 and are ones that we use often on our displays as they are so versatile.

Pinterest????????

Have had had a look at our Pinterest page lately?

What is Pinterest? It is our digital pin up board. When we find something on the Internet we like we pin it onto our pin up board.

There are boards that feature our cards and cards made by our customers (eg: Spellbinders Dies). There are boards that feature ideas from brands that we love, using product that we have in the shop and these cards have been made by their designers (eg: Spellbinders Inspirations) . There are also videos that have been made by the different companies that show you how to use their products.

Did you know that you can have a look at our pin up boards without being a member of Pinterest.

All you have to do is click on this link and follow these steps.

Click on a board -  this will open up a board
Click on a card that you like from that board - this enlarges the card
Click on it again - this links it back to the original source and may provide instructions for the card

Scrap paper!!!!!

What can I do with all of my scrap paper?

This is a great way to use up all of your left over bits of paper.
Cut them into strips and adhere tape to the back of each piece.
The tape can be adhered from end to end or leave a gap at each end to the curl up slightly as above.
Arrange the pieces into a pattern as shown above and then adhere them very carefully to the card base.
