Filigree Boxes

Angie, one of our clever customers, has been busy after doing the Filigree Delights class and has produced lots of lovely useful Christmas boxes, changing sizes to suit the contents.

If you missed out on this class don't panic - we are running the class again in January.

We have some gorgeous new Nativity Border dies in. If you came to the Gilding Flakes class, this die works beautifully :

We also have lots of new colours of the Gilding Flakes in stock.

If you haven't been in lately, we have a display of great cards for boys and men done using the Kaisercraft Off the Wall papers. (Click on the wording to see the papers, or better still drop in and see what we have done!)

CHA - which sees the release of lots of lovely new craft goodies - is next month. Spellbinders has run a 'Sneak Peek' for some of the dies they will be releasing. You can see them here:

Lost & Found

Jill has been having fun with the Lost & Found Christmas paper we have in stock.

The baubles have been die-cut from the red glitter card we have, and the Merry Christmas is from gold foilboard.

New Stickeroos in stock

We have some gorgeous 'Stickeroos' from Penny Black in stock. These are perfect for quick and easy Christmas cards. This week's Mojo Monday challenge inspired Jill's card:

The paper is from Couture Creations Vintage Christmas 12" x 12" paper pad, the snowflakes are a Spellbinders die. This is the Mojo Monday sketch:

Sketches are a great way of getting started on cards if you are short of ideas.

New Christmas Papers in stock

We have managed to get supplies of the My Minds Eye papers which Toni used on the Christmas stair card we had on display last year. Toni will bring the card back in. The papers look like this:

Tis the Season class peek

Just a quick sneak peek at two of the cards from the upcoming Tis the Season class. We will be looking at a few ways to use gilding flakes on cards. You will use a new pack of flakes in class and take the remainder home, along with helpful hints on using them.
If you have not booked yet there are some places left - give the shop a call.

Jo's Next Scrapbooking Class

Our next scrapbooking class will be held on Wednesday 10th and on Saturday 13th. We have spaces left in the Wednesday class at 9.30am.
The layout uses the Kaisercraft Dream Big range.

This shows part of the layout - the full page is on display in the shop. If you'd like to do this class please phone as soon as possible.

Inchies on Cards

Due to a cancellation we have ONE place available in Saturday's Inchies classes - phone Toni or Jill ASAP if you would like to join in.
As promised here is the purple card (front, and inside) you could make once you have done the class.
If you missed the class but wish to order the die set or stamp set used let us know.

Social Dylusions

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came along to last night's Social Capers. There were lots of lovely cards and projects displayed and many different techniques being used by the ladies there.

Last night's product focus was the Dylusions Ink Sprays. These are bright, translucent inks which react with each other and with water - great fun to use! This card was made for the demo:

Inspired by demonstrating the ink sprays last night, I've continued playing at home today. I've been following ideas suggested here on the Friends in Art blog.
I've used Bubblegum Pink, Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange and Calypso Teal to spray a manilla tag.
Seedless Preserves and Black Soot Distress Inks as directed. Picket Fence Distress Paint instead of the Snowcap dabber, and a white gel pen.
I've also sprayed a strip of pale yellow Bazzill with the four Dylusions inks. I'll stamp flowers on these and fussy-cut them out.

Capers and Classes

A quick reminder that our next Social Capers gathering is this coming Monday night from 6:30pm - 9:30pm in Warwick - hasn't that snuck up quickly? If you are unsure of where it is held please phone Toni at the shop. As always yummy treats are most welcome!

As mentioned on our Facebook page there are just a few spots left for Jo's Butterfly Book class - Wed 28th at noon, and Friday 5th Sept 9:30 and noon.

The Inchies on Cards class is also filling fast so phone if you would like to join this class. Remember that you get your own set of Darkroom Door Garden Inchies stamps to keep and you'll learn some great techniques.

Be-YOU-tiful Design Folder

July's Design Folder is ready, with another 10 delightful cards for us to share with you. Whether you are new to cardmaking or are an experienced cardmaker you will enjoy our latest display. Two of the projects have been prepared by a guest designer - many thanks to Pauline.

 

And yes there is one card missing - you'll have to drop in to see which one! As an added bonus there are two extra cards for you to photograph - one made with the Be-YOU-tiful papers and one in the style of one of the main cards using different papers.

Tea Card – Toni will be using alcohol inks and blending  solution  to show you how to create your own backgrounds for this card.  We will also be using one of the new Stamp It stamps.  You will be doing a bit of experimenting in this class and an apron is advisable.  The class will run for 1 – 1 ½ hours. The cost of this class is $18.

Pitter Patter Scrapbooking Page – Jo will be using the new Pitter Patter Collection from Kaiser to

Make up this baby page.  When booking this class you will need to nominate whether you will be doing the baby boy or the baby girl page as the papers and collectables are different for each.
The actual pages are here in the shop if you want to come in and have a look.  The class will run for
1 ½ hours and the cost of this class will be $30. 

Memory Box – Jill will be showing you how to make this gorgeous multi- layer flip-out box which makes a gift that anyone would be pleased to receive. The class will run for a minimum of 1 ½ hours – we are expecting that it will overrun.  The cost of this class is $35.

Reach for the Stars Scrapbooking Page – Jo has put together this very cute and fun page.  It is on display in the shop and is targeted at younger boys.  The cost of this class is $20.

Recipe Tag Book – Jill will be doing a rerun of this card that was done several years ago.  It is on display in the shop and has already been lots of bookings.  The cost of this class is $30.

Berry Card – Toni will be using a variety of Darkroom Door Stamps and distress inks to create this card.  The colouring of this card makes it useable as a Christmas card.  The class will run for 1 ½ hours and the cost of this class is $35.  Your take home kit will include a Darkroom Door stamp.

Butterfly Book – This is one of the gorgeous books that Jo has had on display in the shop.  We have had lots and lots of requests to run this one as a class.  Jo has used the Kaiser Bluebelle collection to put together this book.  The class will take 1 ½ to 2 hours and will cost $22.

Inchies on Cards – Jill will be running this class using the Darkroom Door Inchies stamps.  You will be making two cards during this class and will go home with a set of Inchies stamps.  The class will run for 1 ½ hours and will cost $35.

Dream Big Page – Jo has put together this beautiful page using the Dream Big Collection from Kaisercraft.  It is really a beautiful page and once again Jo has blown me away with her use of placement.  The class will run for 1 ½ hours and will cost $32.00.

Boxes and Bags – Toni will show you how to make a variety of boxes and bags using different methods, paper and card.  You can use these to dress up small gifts and had make treats.  This class will inspire you to explore the wonderful world of “packaging”.  Truly.  The class will take two hours.  You will go home with a plethora of different bags and boxes and of course instructions to make many more.  The cost of the class is $40. 

Tis the Season – Jill will be starting the first of our Christmas Classes with some gorgeous cards using gilding flakes.  This techniques is one that she learned on her recent trip to the UK.  The cost of this class will be $35 and will include a pack of gilding flakes in your take home kit.

The Christmas Yummy Box - Jo takes boxes a step further with this very clever box.  There is one on display in the shop at the moment but during the class you will be working with a selection of Christmas themed papers.  The class will run for 1 ½ hour and will cost $25

I have heard a few people comment on what has changed - many thanks to Jackie and Leelyn for their fabulous revamp. Drop in and let us know if you've noticed something different. I'll post pictures over the next few days.
