Rich Cocoa

When colouring with the Spectrum Alcohol based pens we use Memento ink pads.
These ink pads are dye based and can be used with all alcohol based pens.
Rich Cocoa was a colour that we often used with bears and other animals. Recently Jill stamped some people out with it and coloured them in and you can see the results below.
Have you tried stamping with colours other than black?
We have a selection of Memento ink pads in store now which include: Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, Angel Pink, London Fog, Desert Sand, Paris Dusk and Potter's Clay

This little girl below has been coloured in with Angle Pink Memento ink pad.

More Washi Tape ideas

Jill has used Washi tape, Spectrum pens and a set of Stamp It stamps (set 071) in her latest Spectrum Noir challenge entry.  The theme this month was Spring.

The flowers were coloured in with PP2, PP5, DG2 and DG3.  The colours were used to match the colour of the Washi tape (which is
in stock at the moment). PP6 was used to colour the rhinestones.

We also have the Washi Tape used on the fish card below back in stock.

Bright cards

Here are a couple of bright cards.

These two stamps are from Imaginisce and are only $3.95 each. Jill has gone bright this time using this gorgeous American Craft printed paper and matching bright flowers. The images have been coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens.
These acrylic stamps are in store now.

We have had a lot of fun with the style of card below. The base is made out of acetate/clear film. A piece of printed paper is then cut slightly smaller than the base and is held in place with twine (we have heaps of colours of twine us stock at the moment). This is a great way to use up a lovely print that will not match up to coloured card base. We have applied a Happy Birthday rub on to the acetate card base to finish off the card. You could also stamp on the acetate card base using a solvent based stamp pad - Staz On is the stamp pad that we use when stamping on acetate.

More flowers from Sharyn

Recently we featured this set of flower stamps (seen below) which we coloured in with Liquid Pearls.

Sharyn (our designer) made some more cards with it recently and coloured the images in with Tombow pens. By using the muted tones of the Tombow pens and the Kaiser printed papers (Marigold Collection) it totally changes the look of the flowers.

Flower Burst Spellbinders D-Lite Die

Do you have your Flower Burst Spellbinders D-Lite die yet?

If yes, look at the cards below to see what you can do with it.
If no, then you had better pop into Crafty Capers and pick yours up today.
This die will go through the Sizzix Big Shots and the Cuttlebug die-cut machines.

Click on the Spellbinders tab above or this link to get more information on using these great dies and get a great cut every time.

This card has an acetate/clear film base. There is an insert on the inside of the card base that is slightly smaller than the acetate that is made from Kaiser printed paper. The paper insert is held in place by the twine. The white Flower Burst is glued to the front of the card base with Glossy Accents. A second Flower Burst (in a different colour) is glued to the inside of the card base directly behind the white Flower Burst.

Use the red/tan embossing mats on your die-cut.

To get coloured flowers, die-cut the Flower Burst die in different colours, cut out the flowers you want in various colours and mount them into place.

Use the red/tan embossing mats with the die to emboss the details of the Flower Burst onto the die-cut. If you have forgotten how to do this click on the link above.

This die-cuts above and below have been embossed with the red/tan embossing mats.

To get a shadow look  on the card above die-cut two Flower Bursts in the same colour and mount one on top of the other with tiny pieces of white Magic Mount.

Make sure you pop into to Crafty Capers to see the samples on display.

More amazing Spellbinders D-Lites ideas

Here are some more samples using the Spellbinders D-Lites dies that (as you may have noticed) we love using.

The bear in a vest (Stamp It) has been coloured in with the Warm Greys from Spectrum Nior. The Whimsical Tree has been cut from red metallic paper.

The gorgeous poppies have been cut from red Bazzill and placed on a smaller square card base. We mounted the poppies using tiny pieces of black Magic Mount.

The Wrought Iron Fence is one of the best sellers in the range of dies as it is a long fence. Here we have coloured the bear in using the Cool Grey Spectrum Noir pens. The fence was glued onto the Diamond Bazzill Bling using a glue pen. We use the Zig glue pens as they never clog up.

The window dies are great as you can decorate the window or you can have something on the inside of the card so you are looking through the window.

This is the first card we made with the Flower Burst die. It is quick and easy which is what you need sometimes when you need a card in a hurry. We have since made up a display of 10 more cards using it so stay tuned for the next post to see what other creations you can made with this lovely die.
